Designs of the Decade

1920's

The 33F16 "YLA" oil diesel engine is developed for industrial applications.

  • This 2 cycle engine was used for both stationary power generation and in ocean going tugs, freighters and fishing vessels.
  • The "YLA" was first offered at 100 H.P. per cylinder at 275 rpm. By 1944 it was improved to 200 H.P. per cylinder at 300 rpm.
  • The "YLA" proved to be such a useful engine that it was still being built and shipped in the 1950's, but was discontinued in the 1960's.
